Part 1 – Ana & Roman

The story starts with a young couple called Ana & Roman. They grew up in the very small village called Păușa in Bihor in the 1930s, a very complex period, Transilvania being united with Romania for 15-20 years only, on the brink of World War II and Russia’s influence to bring communism in Romania intensifying.

This young couple had a love for reading and both went on to become primary school teachers and, as the practice was in Romania at that point, you weren’t able to apply for a job, but were partitioned somewhere in a random village.

In the 60’s, they catch their big break and they both land a position at a school in Oradea. Immediately, they buy some land and start building their first and only home. Roman dies of an incurable disease shortly after and Ana is left alone as a single mom.

Ana lives a long & solitary life, but always enjoys the connections with neighbours, former pupils and fellow teachers.

Part 2 – Corina & Bogdan

Corina & Bogdan got to know Ana, seen her take care of that house until her deathbed and listened to her stories about those times when she & the love of her life established in Oradea.

So, how best to honour those who come before us than by creating a space where people can relax, connect, learn and experience the beauty and the culture of Oradea that Ana & Roman both help build?!

Thank you Ana & Roman, we are proud to take over your home and we are sure that you are resting peacefully knowing your home is in our hands now.
